Kent County Experience a ransomware attack on July 8th, 2023, this presentation will give an overview of the attack and discuss how did it affected our GIS system. Outline steps needed to secure your GIS database, how to identify and assess the potential threats that can affect it. These can include malicious hackers, insider threats, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, data breaches, and more. This is a presentation to allow space to share concerns, insights, stories, or topics that don’t fit into any standard GIS security topics but experiences from an actual event that may help to give you ideas that can ensure that your spatial data is safe from cyber-attacks and that you can recover.
